The stacked screw solid-liquid separator, also known as the stacked screw sludge dewatering machine, works mainly based on the principles of spiral extrusion and filtration. The following is a detailed analysis of the working principle of the device:
Basic Structure and Composition
The stacked screw solid-liquid separator is mainly composed of a fixed ring, a moving ring, a spiral shaft, a back pressure plate, a driving mechanism, and an electronic control system. These components together form a continuous filtration and dehydration device.
Working principle
Sludge input and flocculation:
The sludge slurry is first input into the “V” shaped metering tank of the dewatering machine through the sludge pump, and a part of it will flow back to the sludge slurry tank. The metered sludge enters the flocculation tank.
In the flocculation mixing reaction tank, flocculants are injected through a drug injection pump to fully mix the sludge with the flocculants, forming larger alum flowers for subsequent solid-liquid separation.
Concentration and dehydration:
The flocculated sludge first enters the concentration section of the screw stacker, where it is quickly separated from water by gravity.
Subsequently, the sludge is pushed to the dewatering section. In the dewatering section, the small gap between the fixed ring and the moving ring, as well as the pushing effect of the spiral shaft, cause the sludge to experience increasing squeezing pressure during its advancement.
At the same time, the pitch of the helical shaft gradually decreases, and the gap between rings also gradually decreases, resulting in a continuous contraction of the volume of the helical cavity. Under the action of the back pressure plate at the outlet, the internal pressure gradually increases, further promoting the water in the sludge to be squeezed out.
Mud cake discharge:
After the above process, a large amount of water in the sludge is removed, forming a sludge cake with high solid content. These mud cakes are ultimately discharged continuously from the outlet of the screw stacking machine.
Characteristics and advantages
Efficient dewatering: The stacked screw solid-liquid separator achieves efficient dewatering of sludge through continuous spiral extrusion and filtration.
High degree of automation: The equipment can be equipped with a fully automatic electrical protection system to achieve joint control with equipment such as grille cleaning machines, reducing the difficulty of manual operation.
Small footprint: The device is designed to be compact and occupies a small area, making it easy to install and use in a limited space.
Stable operation: The equipment has low noise and vibration during operation, low failure rate, and easy maintenance.
Wide applicability: Suitable for sludge dewatering treatment in multiple industries such as municipal sewage, food, beverage, chemical, leather, welding materials, papermaking, printing and dyeing, pharmaceuticals, etc.
